Advanced Strategies
Advanced game and position strategies, focusing on 9-ball, with emphasis on the mental game. 1 ea/wk, 3 wks.
Classes at Cue U, the College of Pool and Billiards, are conducted in quiet, luxurious surroundings that are conducive to maximum learning. Students practice and experiment on the finest equipment available: a variety of exquisitely restored antique Brunswick pool tables are provided, along with the latest versions of coin-operated tables. All distractions are removed to allow students to concentrate on improving. Spectators are not allowed, and maximum privacy is assured
Cue U - One
Cue movement and alignment. Video analysis and personal drills to enhance performance. Workshops on speed control, choke syndromes, aim and focus, break shots.
Cue U - Two
Cue ball control. Elements of applicable physics and geometry. Applying vertical and horizontal spin. Workshops on position zones, shot selection, effective safety techniques. How to win with caroms, billiards and gear shots
Cue U - Three
Extreme techniques. Turning bad situations into run outs. Kick shots, bank shots, jump shots. Workshops on 4- and 5-rail kicks, cushion jumps for position, object ball jumps, masse shots.How to win the mental game.
Stroke Evaluation
For students who are not yet ready to commit to a full course, Cue U offers a two-hour Stroke Evaluation workshop. In addition to being a valuable learning experience, it allows a prospective student to receive an introduction to the Cue U instructors and their methods before enrolling in our full course. The Stroke Evaluation gives you valuable assistance with improving your game, and also a chance to see what we do and how we do it.
Graduate Study
Available to graduates of Cue U Three only. Video analysis of your performance in actual game situations against pro players. The ultimate reality check.
